Assam

Assam

Assam is one of the seven sisters in the North East. Like a caring, benevolent elder sister, she spreads herself all across the family, touching each of the other six and extending a loving caress on them all.

Any visit to Assam starts, usually, with an entry into Guwahati or Dibrugarh. As much as the state itself has to show in terms in terms of the various travel themes, it is also a perfect launching pad for the wonders in the other sisters. The wildlife wonders of Kaziranga, Manas and Nameri, the world’s largest inhabited river island of Majuli, also the home to Vaishnavite Xatras, Sibsagar and Kamakhya, the off the beaten path draws like Haflong, Jatinga and Digboi… it’s a delightful place to begin exploring the North East. Like the mighty Brahmaputra that flows through its veins, Assam makes for a fascinating destination.

We have only scratched the surface but we are planning to catch up on the rest!
